My reasoning is that it shifts from 1-2 better and I read online it actually makes the transmission not "slip", so it actually is better than stock for the Hoe.

My step-dad who can install anything in cars said he can install one in less than 30 minutes, but doesn't understand why I would install a sports car Servo in a 4X4 SUV. I know they can be purchased for under $20. Quick question: Is there any at ALL downsides to installing the Corvette Servo in my 04 Tahoe LT? These can be installed easily enough while in the vehicle, but save yourself a little time and effort and do it while the trans is still on the shop floor.Upsides/Downsides to installing the Corvette Servo In fact, I think the Vette servos are TransGo parts. I got mine from Oregon Performance Transmissions off of eBay, and have bought many other trans parts from them, including a stall converter several years ago. The servos can be bought off eBay for around $20. It really helps if you have a helper around when putting it back together to help get the cover back on, but it can be done alone. A pry bar, a couple small screwdrivers, a c-clamp, and a pair of pliers or channel locks. These literally take 15 minutes to R&R, and take no special tools. Although this mod mostly affects the 1-2 and 3-4 shifts, I can definitely tell that the 2-3 shift are much firmer also. a Vette servo for the trans is a definite must-have! I finally got around to installing mine this weekend, and I can't believe what a difference it makes! 1-2 shifts at WOT will bark the tires, and 3-4 is very snappy.
